Re: Mystery Pic..it does seem to be a growth of something, but what and more importantly where?
Re: Mystery Pic..Judging from the colours and the textures, I'd guess that you pulled a paver or slab of some kind and found the roots growing behind.
Initially, I though tree bark, but I dont think that's right. The white areas could be lime mortar or something like that... Michael
Re: Mystery Pic..That is the worse case of tinea I have seen in a long while, I would get yourself to a doctor

Re: Mystery Pic..Id say an old wall where the root system has been growing under the plaster and some areas of plaster has fallen off, or it could be where roots have grown through the mortar between 2 peices of stone in a wall.

Re: Mystery Pic..Some interesting guesses,
The most imaginative going to Chris, but i would definatly be seeing a doctor if it were tinea thanks Glen. AND Andy gets in as i am posting... well done 100% correct I was ripping tiles out of my bathroom today and found this on the outside of the shower wall (which leaks thus the new tiling) Anyway it has been good to see so many guesses. Congrats. Might be something for the mods to bring in as a different sort of challenge????
