Ah yes ...

Good ole Dell customer service.

The kiosk called today to say they cannot guarantee what display type would be fitted and I would not be able to return it if it wasn't the type I specified.


Actually, in law, I suspect they may not be correct. If you specify exactly what you want, and they fail to supply that, then you most certainly should be able to return it.

Check with Fair Trading on that aspect; I'd be very interested to hear what they have to say.

Adam, I noticed Officeworks now sell Dell notebooks and PC, maybe they sell screens and you could walk in and check?

Ok, done that, got the menu up... all mine says at the top is "V1B22 RT803"

Different model - I bought a 2407WFP-HC in Feb 08 -

On the service menu it displays V1B07 DR880 -- not sure what panel it has.

The Dell laptop I have has a LPL DF00 panel - 15" WS 1440*900 resolution.
