D300 firmware 1.03 released

Postby digitor on Tue Jul 01, 2008 11:03 pm

"This firmware resolves an issue which, in rare cases, causes the battery indicator to blink whilst shooting regardless of the level of charge in the battery."

Link

Sorry about the width of that link, not sure how to fix it!

Cheers

Nnnnsic's edit: I haven't done any real moderating for a while, but here goes... THAT'S how you do it. :P

Note that with Nikon links, you only need up to and including the FAQID:

http://nikoneurope-en.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/nikoneurope_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=25158

All the other junk is superfluous (and is also not needed ;) ).

My new D300 has also survived the upgrade so far - now if only I could get a chance to get out and take some pictures with the bloody thing!

Cheers

And thanks for the linky tips, guys :D

Binny, Nikon put there recent upgrades into the firmware, often all issues addressed are not listed. If you look on the Nikon site the have very little information on what is updated but for the effort involved and no reported downsides I would just do it.

Not happy,

installed the firmware last week, all was good.

Just received a couple of Pocket Wizards, so keen to try them out came the D300 and flash, the 300 played up holy hell showing flat battery constantly, in my opinion the camera is far worse than before the upgrade, glad I wasn't at the drags, would have missed heaps of shots, a meeting on this weekend, hope it comes good.

Flatpick just reinstall the old 1.02 software.

Here is the link for 1.02 if you feel 1.03 is the cause of your problems. You will probably have to do a master reset or similar then try uploading 1.02. Sounds stupid but also try charging the battery, of course it could also be the pocket wizards. I would test without them as you said the camera worked well till you attached them.
