Death Row (Links Added)Pound dog photo series. This guy is pretty old so I doubt he'll get another home. Sad really but that is an emotion I'm trying to convey in this series.
As always CC welcome http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3146/2620904012_5a0a21d38b_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3090/2620079681_8d5931d951_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3039/2620079369_616063bdbb_o.jpg Edit: I had removed these images. I have been asked to put them back up as links. Whilst I was trying to convey sadness I understand that some people identify with these animals and I know we don't come to this fine forum to leave sadder than when we arrive. Some may find these images disturbing. Last edited by wheels on Mon Jul 07, 2008 7:33 pm, edited 4 times in total.
Re: Death RowSad images, but well taken.

Re: Death RowThanks Geoff. As with your photos (had a bit of a look around your site) I'm trying to learn to convey emotion through this medium and I'm glad it has worked. Photos seem to have a faint amber cast to them due to the setting sun. I was going to correct it but thought I would leave it in.
Re: Death Rowso sad...
Re: Death RowGreat photos to convey the sadness! Too bad about their fate...
Re: Death RowNice shots and story, I'm a dog lover I just hate it when dogs are in the pound waiting for there fate

No cheers this time, Peter
Re: Death RowMoving photos. Its all in the eyes of the for old fellow. Im a sucker for puppydog eyes. Thats how we came to have our Labrador. Its a shame these poor animals are resorted to such a situation. Images most certainly tell the story your wanting to share.

Re: Death RowThe last one made me cry...
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list...
Re: Death Row
That wasn't my intent. To convey sadness is one thing, to make someone cry is another. If these photos touch someone so emotively I'm happy to edit the post and remove them. As I said that wasn't my intent and I'm sorry.
Re: Death RowYou have captured the dogs emotions perfectly. There is so much sadness in is eyes. If I could, I would adopt him for his final years. That's one reason I never go to pet shops or the RSPCA. I would have to leave with a car-load of dogs.

Re: Death RowI've removed these images. Whilst I was trying to convey sadness I understand that some people identify with these animals and I know we don't come to this fine forum to leave sadder than when we arrive. My apologies to all who may have found these images disturbing.
Re: Death Row (Images Removed)Wheels I missed them. Could you change it to a like rather than remove??
MATT
Re: Death Row (Images Removed)I missed them as well, please link or re-post. p.s. unless the material is wildly inappropriate, this isn't a photo-humour site, despite the moderators
Some of the toughest photos to look at I have ever seen have been through this site, especially a recent link to war photos. D3 | 18-200VR | 50:1.4 | 28:2.8 | 35-70 2.8 | 12-24 f4

Re: Death Row (Images Removed)
Justin, I will post a link rather than the actual pictures. To be fair to the Mods, I removed the photos myself rather than being told to do so. You only have to look at a lot of the previous comments to see that they were thought provoking for some people. Being new here, I didn't want to offend and as a result removed the photos. I'll post links tonight.
Re: Death Row (Images Removed)
I thought the images were fantastic, particularly with respect to the story you wanted to tell. I think your decision to remove the images should be applauded for the reassons you gave, however, remember that, more often than not, you don't offend - people are offended. There is a big difference (in my view, anyway). Regards, Patrick
Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug
Re: Death Row
Noooooooo.... please don't remove them just cause I'm a big sooky lala... Seriously the shots are good.. and you should be pleased that they conveyed what you intended... Please put them back so that others can view them... The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list...
Re: Death Row (Images Removed)I understand your reason for removing them and respect that, but please put back a link to the images, maybe with a simple warning that they may affect some peoples emotions.
They were truly excellent photos of a difficult and thought provoking subject and you did well with them. Steve.

Re: Death Row (Links Added)I've linked the images as you have asked. Please be aware that these images may be emotional for some people.
