Anniversary Weekend Dinner - Come and meet the forum

Postby Glen on Mon Jul 07, 2008 1:01 pm

The DSLRUsers Anniversary Weekend is on the weekend of the 2nd & 3rd of August. There will be different events such as photo tours etc but one of the main events is the AW Dinner. If you haven't been to one before they are a great chance to meet the people you like (or dislike) online and catch up with at an informal dinner. There is a great bunch of members at these dinners, usually with more door prizes that patrons and a great time is had by all.

This year will be at a venue we have used before, In Restaurant, 1/99 Military Road, Neutral Bay, ph 02 9909 1311. It is diagonally opposite the Oaks Hotel, 3 doors from the corner of Ben Boyd Road and Military Road. Take the Military Road exit about 1 minute after coming off the Harbour Bridge if coming from the south or inner west, take the North Sydney exit if coming off the freeway from the North or outer west.

Location via Google Maps: http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&hl=e ... iwloc=addr

A lot of members have been to this event before and I hope they will post their opinions.

Haven't missed one yet, and Bel and I will be there again this year!! We have already booked and paid. It's always good fun, and meeting new members, catching up with old ones is amusing!
Highly recommend it to anyone considering coming along! The food has always been great value too!

Thanx for posting this, Glen.

This is always a great night, and it's also a first in, best dressed event. For those of you who are procrastinating with making your booking, might I respectfully suggest that you procrastinate later: in just three days we are already at 50% of our available booking capacity for the night.

What I can tell you about these nights is that we always have a great time, with great company, the odd giveaway, and lots of photography talk and usually some good opportunities to play with the latest toys. ;)

Unfortunately, we won't be able to make it this year, although hope to get along to the daytime festivalities.

Just around the corner from home again, will book and pay in the next couple of days, might even convince the other half to come along.

I will be thinking of you throughout the weekend, and especially tonight at the Restaurant, when everyone is together eating and drinking. Wished I could have been there, but unfortunately work has prevented that :(. May be next year.

ANOTHER fantastic night!
Thanks to Gary and Glen for organising!
I'm drunk, and had a wonderful evening, chatting with all the people who attended - brilliant! :) Night all!

It was indeed a great night. I only wish I could have stayed a bit longer. As it was I was nearly falling asleep by the time I got home. :(

Thanks Glen and Gary.
