Hi All, well the D70 after it had the last heart attack and died and fixed is dead againand have noticed that when you lock the mirror up the curtain covering the sensor is not opening so off to the doctors to see if fixable. I orded a new Dell 24 inch widescreen and it was supposed to arrive last week after 2 weeks of waiting. So i was in Adelaide for a few days and came home back to Mount Gambier incase it arrived Monday only to ring Dell to see where it is to be told it was damaged in transport and are awaiting the transport company to return it to see what damage is done before they decide to either send me another 1 or replace the parts if any of the damaged carton. Maybe i should have said well that is not my fault send me another or refund my money and will get one eleswhere, but well i still have 1 monitor that works for now.LOL Cheers John BBJ

John, tell Dell to send another one. Under no circumstances would I accept an item that had been damaged in transit.

John, with a new monitor, does that mean your trying to get trackside more now? Will we see some more bike shots down the track?

Raskill, I have been to the track now it is up and running again and sales from last meeting bought the monitor and new desk and i have just been a bit slack in posting any images as yet. I have also change jobs although still doing arvo shifts and driving trucks just for opposition company where i worked before but now driving a B Double so yes i will be at the track more, just that by time i get up in the mornings and have about 2 hours to myself and then back in the truck again. Well then, welcome back, and I'd also be telling Dell to stick their damaged monitor.

The damaged monitor is their problem, not your's.
You have paid for a new one; that is what you are entitled to receive. Insist upon that, and quickly. You are being disadvantaged by its delay.

Actually I am amazed that they would give you the line they have. Even if - and I seriously doubt it - but even if they had some legal right to take that approach, it is appalling treatment of a customer.
Do what Gary said!!

Dear old Dell, My Dell 24" monitor got 'accidently' sent to Grafton NSW, not Freshwater NSW...idiots. Having said that, I now have it and love it! BBJ - what Gary and Chris said, insist on a BRAND new one.

Fair go, Geoff. Give them a break. Can't you see how easy it is to confuse "Grafton" with "Freshwater" - they are both words with three common letters. Easy mistake to make! Maybe they were trying to send it to Harbord

Well just a lil update, rang them yesterday insisting them to send me another 1 but as they say out of there hands i guess this is coming from the mob incarge of transport and rang Dell and said if they can't come up wih goods refund my money only to then be told it had arrived in Sydney for inspection and that i would be contacted yesterday and nothing heard so still inwaiting.
No word on the D70 as yet so will see what happens there but i know the curtain is not opening over the sensor so a shutter problem.
Anyhow update when i get any info.

John, Bullsit, bullshit, bullshit. It's very simple: you have ordered and paid for a NEW monitor. That is your legal right, and if they are not prepared to stand by their legal obligations, tell them where to go. It's very sad that it was damaged. SO BLOODY WHAT? That does not change your entitlement to a NEW monitor. It is still their problem. If you had wanted a damaged or shop-soiled monitor, then surely you would have ordered exactly that? You did not! Don't let them bullshit you. At the worst, cancel the order, and wait a couple of days, then reorder. At any rate, refuse to accept anything that has any signs of damage whatsoever. But if this were me, I would be reading them the riot act.

Well after lot's of phone calls etc.. and bullshit that Dell had put me through my Monitor is now here. Got anearly morning wake up call at 8 am and surprised to see as they did say it would be 4 days from Sydney but got here in 3 so now i am happy. Very nice screen big and well made but what would be the best veiwing mode to set this up at. I have it at 1280x960 at the moment so would this be ok? I will have to play with it at some stage and see how my photo's come out when i process some with it. Cheers John BBJ

You will want to run the screen at the native resolution. That would be around 1920x1200. Enjoy the monitor! Daniel
