Second Osprey ShotThis one has a more conventional crop
Comments Welcome: Bob

Re: Second Osprey ShotI prefer this crop and there is a richness in the brown feathers the other is lacking.

Re: Second Osprey ShotWow, razor sharp and great background seperation can I ask how long you'd spend shooting to get a shot like this, I'd imagine it usually take a whole lot of patience, and probably learning favoured resting sites etc.
Re: Second Osprey ShotIncredible sharpness! Great crop!

Re: Second Osprey ShotThis is spectacular... It is a large improvement over the first and that was special.
edit: Bob what lens are you using?? I was reading the exif data from the image iso1600 and so clean. The D3 showing its worth. The lens shows 700mm??? MATT
Re: Second Osprey Shot
Yesterday was an investment of about 2.5hrs. - but luck plays a big part. I will know where to look next time and then hope for good light. Bob

Re: Second Osprey Shot
This was the 500 f4 with a 1.4 T/C combo giving the 700 which you need this and more with the FF sensor of the D3. Not the ideal birders camera but you get lucky now and again. Here's another shot with a different head angle Bob
