My 18-200 doesn't wind out when held down??? I guess you could check the specs of each lens and look for internal focus(IF).

Not having any real experience, but what about the cheaper 18-70dx Kit lens or the even cheaper 18-55 kit lens. How stable is the mast ( also can you show us a picture of your setup?) , VR may be of advantage.

I've got nothing to offer Adam, except love the twighlight shot! That would really help with selling the house, looks so inviting and such a great angle!
