anyone from mildura or broome or been to either?

Mildura
I have a gig in a few weeks which takes me to Mildura for a few days (Kidney Rally with Raskill and Matty), we am after a scene where we can get 50-70 vehicles up high where the sun will set behind them and we can obtain a silhouette image, we are also looking for somewhere to shoot a few cars at sunrise, any suggestions/recommendations would be fantastic, and any other places around mildura which would be good backgrounds for cars passing.

Broome
Anyone been? or know some cool places to go, im not going my mum and her best friend are so thought i would do some research for them, smugmug has a few images but nothing special but anything which is perhaps off the tourist track so to speak would be good.

Cheers

Well i have been to Broome a couple of times. 01 and 07

Places to go
Cable Beach of Course
Various pearl shops you can't miss them
It has a large (relative to the size of the town) china town
If the out door cinema is still there go there
The Fish and chip shop on the wharf is apparently good albeit slightly pricey (i went there in 01 not 07 )

Out of Broome a bit
Cape leveque (not sure of that spelling) is about 3 gours north of Broom does require booking but is brilliant
If you have wheels and time it is a good idea to head into the western end of the gib river road/ Kimberly's eg bell gorge (bell creek is the campground)

and of course use the Lonely Planet

Here's an idea -- why not look up the visitor info centre phone # for Mildura and give them a call?

Can't help beyond that sorry.

Thats not funny. Not at all. Beside, it's snowing here today, and it's always a little warmer when it snows.

I didn't mention before, the diesel in my truck also froze. Now thats chilly!

We live near Mildura and have been there heaps of times. That being said, we don't often go around the scenery but I am sure there are cliffs there (Redcliffs is a town nearby and I know there are cliffs there!) overlooking the river which might be what you are looking for. We have plenty near us, with the same type of scenery.

There is a few nice cliffs along the river out of Mildura towards Wentworth and the other way too. Some aligned nicely to get sunset backgrounds.

Not sure how you would go with that many vehicles though?

Adam from Broken hill would be one to chat on this as he goes down there quite a bit for Shopping as its the closest major centre to him.
