CPL Filter for MotorsportsDoes anyone used a polarising filter for motorsports. It seems to me that it would be benefical for those shots where there is glare off the windows and bodywork.
D700, 50 1.8, 14-24 2.8, 24-70 2.8, 70-200VR, 80-400VR, SB800 plus a lot of gadgets
Re: CPL Filter for MotorsportsI can't say I've tried it for this purpose, but it will reduce glare, so it should work.
Be aware though it will cost you 2 - 3 stops of exposure Greg
It's easy to be good... when there is nothing else to do
Re: CPL Filter for MotorsportsIve only ever used one for the snow..... got some great pics from having it on, never really felt the need for one with motor sport photography, might be an idea to try at the clipsal event next year though if its as bright as it was this year.....
Life is all about ass, you're either covering it, laughing it off, kicking it, kissing it, busting it, trying to get a piece of it, or behaving like one
Re: CPL Filter for MotorsportsI have seen the finish results of motor sport togs using CPL filter and IMO the filter is really effective and Im all for being able to see a driver through glass, capturing there eyes even better, get them to get rid of them pesty sun visors ...I mean any body would think you cant drive a car in the sun these days .......cheers
