This week's PotW is a wedding photo with a difference from Willy wombat, shown in his colour series here. In a "trash the dress" scenario, we have the newly-married couple cavorting in a tropical pool. The colours in the dress and water are wonderful, and the depth of field chosen by the photographer gives the picture a fresh dimension. Congratulations Willy.

Congrats Willy. Great quirky image. Love the colour and composition. I have to do a friends(ex-students) wedding in September so hit me with the tips and NO, I'm sure the bride will not want to hop in the cold streams of the Atherton tablelands. cheers marco

Woo hoo - That makes a sad day for me (family funeral) so much better. Thanks guys for this honour! She (the bride) will also be very happy to know that she was picked as pic of the week!
By the way - Im off to Cairns tomorrow for a week of R+R on the reef, so probably wont be online for a little while after tonight.

Marco - the key was to go through a few other wedding portfolios with the bride before the shoot and ask her what she wanted. We saw another image of a bride in the water and she said - oh it will be warm. I want that! I just made sure i took an old pair of shoes that i didnt mind gettign wet and encouraged them to have fun on the day and not be too serious.

I'm certainly with cricketfan on this one. It was my pic of the week as well. Now let's hope the happy couple don't become another marital statistic in a few years!
