Bailey and Jacobwent to my sisters to get some photos of her new boy Bailey with her partner's 7 y.o. son Jacob.
Used a large window next to the couch they were sitting on. 17-55 @ 55m, f/4, 800ISO with their dad... Jacob is one very photogenic kid! Nathan

Re: Bailey and JacobVery nice series Nathan. Just shows that you don’t need the bells and whistles in lighting systems to get excellent results.

Re: Bailey and JacobBeautiful series.
Curiously - what was the backdrop/background used in the first, third and last images? Geoff

Re: Bailey and Jacobthanks guys
geoff, i didnt use a backdrop. He was sitting on a dark blue couch which was almost rendered as black. i made sure my viewpoint was high enough so that the couch filled the frame as the walls surrounding were white. for the 3rd image though, there was white wall at the top above his arms so i just selected the white areas and made them black Nathan

Re: Bailey and JacobVery nicely done, and such a simple approach!
Pick of the bunch for me is the second one - DOF is just perfect, and composition really sings to me. Tones and B&W conversion just work so well. Well done, you've gotta be happy with these *** When getting there is half the fun! ***
Re: Bailey and Jacobthanks so much,
