Hi Everyone! :-)

Well here's my first post on this wonderful forum...

A friend (MickeyJuice) has been telling me about dslrusers for ages. I finally bit the bullet last night and decided to have a look!

I must say, wow! what a friendly, knowledgeable, interesting and active forum. I'm quite impressed!!! I now understand why Mick has been quite impressed!

Firstly a little about myself.

Name: bennie
Status: Married, 2 kids ( of which you'll see a LOT in photo stream ) + 2 dogs
Hobby: Photography! (in a massive way).

I purchased my Canon 400D last year on the 21st September and I haven't looked back.

I've got a little bit of kit however not as much as i want
My kit consists of:
- Canon EOS 400D
- Canon 70-200 f/4.0L IS USM
- Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX HSM
- Canon 50mm f/1.8
- Canon 18-55mm Kit Lens
- x2 4GB Sandisk Extreme III Compact Flash Cards
- Manfrotto Tripod

It's enough for now and from a personal preference it seems that my 70-200 seems to be on the body more than anything. *lol* :-)

I'm keen to learn more and keep practicising. Being challenged by everyone i think is going to be a great thing! I would love to get into the strobist thing as well ( as you can from my kit, i'm missing an off-camera flash ).

So on that note, i'd like to say 'thank you'... I'm looking forward to contributing here!

Welcome Bennie. I took the opportunity to have a peek at your pics and I must say that the results from the lightbox are excellent. :up:

Welcome to forum Bennie! Become a regular contributor....meet lots of nice photographers.....join the workshops and photo shoots...and help us maintain the forum as one of the best. Looking forward to seeing your posts.

Thanks mate! Re: the comment you left on my lightbox! sure mate, no problems, you can borrow of it for a weekend ! :-) You'll just have to fly to Melbourne to pick it up! :D

cheers! Glad you liked them. however which lightbox are you talking about? The lightbox (for taking pictures of objects), or my temporary, poor-mans no-flash covered lamp thing! :-)

Sure will mate, i'm on my flickr page every day seeing what's up with my photos and comments and of course checking out my contact list to see what new stuff they've put online!

I'm looking forward to that aspect of it Matt, hopefully there's a few Melbourne people here. I would to get out on some workshops and particularly photo shoots. Have a chat with other togs and such. Learn new things. etc.etc....

Thank-you all for the warm welcome, now it's time to get stuck into some more reading! i've got a 'few' posts to catch up on! :mrgreen:
