Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

It's my pleasure to be choosing Picture Of The Week this week. There were, as is always the case, many fine and diverse images shared with us by our fellow members this week. The hardest task is always to single outjust one for mention and this week is no exception. The image I've chosen struck me the moment I saw it. It's a very powerful, yet somehow understated image which has been enhanced by some well controlled post processing (and a little judicious editing ). What's also very instructive about this shot is that it's of something many people probably go straight by without more than a fleeting glance. In many ways that's an essential part of photography to me - taking the commonplace or everyday and causing the viewer to reflect on it anew. Congratulations surenj. Can't disagree with any of the above. Great choice of a fabulous capture of Life down on the Farm.

Unbelievable and unexpected... Thanks everyone for your kind comments. Most of the inspiration would have come from this forum, so it reflects how good we are as a bunch... Suren
