Spent a cold and wet day out at Oran Park shooting these big mummas. Plenty of noise and plenty of exhaust fumes. Shame it wasn't warmer.

Number 2 is a cracker of a shot. Not a subject that seems to be recorded much but always full of plenty of close racing action and paint swapping in the class. Nice to see some more motorsport on the forum. Great work!

A form of motor sport that i have no interest in, cant even watch it on SBS, I feel sick by just looking at the amount of exhaust fumes.

Some good pics BTW.

LOVE the trucks :) - such a politically incorrect pastime - I think it brings out the redneck in me, a bit like NZ Stockcars (Stubbsy knows what I mean there ;) )...

As others have said, number 2 stands out from the rest here. The attack angle of the front of the truck in relation to the track, the exhaust and, of course, that fantastic wording on the radiator! Well captured. Would love to see more if you've got them in a gallery somewhere.

Ahhh - the smell of burning rubber intermingled with the choking diesel, the thunder as tonnes go past just metres away and the mere fact these things just aren't designed to be treated like this! Wonderful stuff ;)

#2 is the pick for me Barry, pretty much sums up truck racing for me. Thank goodness it was quite windy when the trucks were on, took away the smoke pretty quickly!

Thanks for the comments guys. It's always a bit of a laughter to shot these big buggers.

Sheepie - sorry but I do have a gallery to refer you too. It's something that is on my to do list.

I love the second shot, cant wait for these things to come back to Adelaide, so i can have a go at shooting them!

Whats the go with the white smoke off the front right tyre of the last yellow truck in the shot? Blowout in the process of occuring, or something else? Seems like a lot of smoke for the front wheel, and for something going in a straight line!

Doctor, not sure but I think it was a wheel lock-up. He had to pull up quick because the trucks in front of him slowed to form up for the rollowing start?

Jeff, down where I was there was hardly any togs. Don't tend to go up the top much on these sort of days.

Fellas that's steam being evaporated from the brake rotors... all the bigger trucks spray water over the rotors to cool them :)
