Road Trip - Sydney to Brisbane (Warning: Large Post!)Hi all.
Love my road trips, so when the interstate trips are on I hop aboard the big-rig with my old man and head off. This time was Sydney/Brisbane with a 40ft container of PS3s worth $3m and weighing 9 tons. The comfy Scania is only a single-bogie and couldn't handle the weight, so the Sterling was called to duty. With no AC or Cruise Control, my old man was kept busy the whole time. We left at 5am on Monday and got home just before midnight on Tuesday. I rarely use my 12-24mm, so decided to take only this lens attached to my D70. There's no time for stopping, so 99% of the pics were taken out the truck window and most at 100km/h which was interesting to say the least. I was shocked at how un-blurry most of the pics came out considering the speed we were doing.. The cam was on Aperture Priority the whole way with ISO Auto or 800+. Anyway, here's a few snapshots I took. Not really worth the PP, so I just used Auto Levels/Exposure Cheers. Last edited by Pehpsi on Thu Apr 10, 2008 12:49 am, edited 2 times in total.

Re: Road Trip - Sydney to Brisbane (Warning: Large Post!)Like your series... Sounds like hard work, driving for long distances like you do... BTW you may be able to take out some of the last few images...They are all evoking the same feeling of movement, chaos anyways so one might be enough.
Re: Road Trip - Sydney to Brisbane (Warning: Large Post!)Thanks for the reply mate

Re: Road Trip - Sydney to Brisbane (Warning: Large Post!)Hey James - great series, and glad you had a safe trip
Some of those shots are amazing considering the conditions you were shooting under !!! I really like the shot of the clouds over the cane fields, and have sent you a pm..... well done !!! Re: Road Trip - Sydney to Brisbane (Warning: Large Post!)Thanks lads, glad you enjoyed the post
The road trip was just what I needed. It's great to just drop everything and hit the road for a solid few days and check out the towns and countryside along the way.. Nikon D70

Re: Road Trip - Sydney to Brisbane (Warning: Large Post!)James. Great series. They bring back some terrific memories for me when I used to travel with my dad on school holidays. Air con, cruise control! One truck dad had had armstrong steering.
Regards, Neil.
Re: Road Trip - Sydney to Brisbane (Warning: Large Post!)Wonderful series of photos. Good to see what a truckies view is like on the road.

Re: Road Trip - Sydney to Brisbane (Warning: Large Post!)Terrific effort - know all the road so well it's intersting seeing your take on it. And what a great exercise taking only one lens - well done. You've told the astory so well.
And what a good exercise it would be for a grou to to - drive somewhere and all have only one lens with restricitions on size.
Re: Road Trip - Sydney to Brisbane (Warning: Large Post!)Aww, I can't see any of the original images :/ but BlacknStormy, that pp is absolutely amazing! Hard to judge how much has changed without seeing the original. but it's beautiful any which way you look at it :)
