Flash Bracket + SC29??

Postby Yi-P on Wed Sep 03, 2008 11:34 pm

I had this flash bracket for a while now, its gathering dust because I can't mount the SC29 with flash on it.

It's got a hotshoe tightening mount which accepts all hotshoe flashes but discriminates the 1/4" screw mount that the SC29 has...

Anyone know any solution on how to mount the flash with SC29 attached?

how about removing the screw under the brackets dummy hotshoe and removing the shoe, and insert something like this with a nut on it?

I'm trying to find a suitable 1/4" screw, the ones I have have smaller threads and it locks up when I try to screw it on...

That looks more like a QR mount, rather than a hotshoe mount.

From where did you source this bracket, and what does the full bracket look like?

Every hardware store in the country has screws to fit a 1/4" tripod socket.

If you want stainless or a special length, you might need to try one of the larger ones, or a speciality fastener store, though stainless is becoming more common now.

Ok ...

I think that all you need is to get a standard hotshoe adapter, and mount it in place of the adapter that is there right now. Should just be a standard 1/4 screw, which, as Greg suggests, should be generally available at any hardware store.

Try Vanbar for the adapter; I'm sure that either Hama and/or Manfrotto will make one.
