Coming home from a sudden weekend work callout to a nameless town 400kms away I decided to stop on a lovely monday night and grab some images of a town I love to visit. Some time exposures with the new bad boy in my Arsenal: Nikon 14-24.

Sadly no D700 on these, as I had to wait a month for it.... So the D300 had to suffice. These have had very minimal PP, criticism welcomed :P

I just love the 2nd one. I love reflections, and this one is great. Great lighting, Great reflection. The jetty just draws your eye to the end.

Fantastic.

Wow, very nice indeed. Did you paint the first two with a torch- youve nailed the WB if you did. Who needs the D700, the colour and punch and even subtlety of the second is all anyone could ever need.

Yeah I was wondering that too.

Those colours are superb. I gotta get out more for long exposures.

Wow.. Stands in corner with embarrased face.. I personally Don't think much of my own work (As Adam-e knows!) But thanks for the feedback!

No torch painting whatsoever, 30 sec exposure f 2.8 (And I think I was even slack and on Auto WB..) It had the lights from the street (about 200 foot away) reflecting on it.

All great shots, #2 is superb you can see the slight green tinge from the street lights but that is something I like. It is fantastic how the streetlights reflected so far out on the jetty.

Superb photos. I love the colour of the wooden jetty in #2, and the composition of #3. The swirls in the water in #1 are beautiful.

I agree that it would be nice to see more of the closest piers in #2, and I find the bright light on the jetty in #3 a tad distracting. But these are some really nice photos.

Fantastic work TP! You may not have worked hard at getting it, (in your words) auto WB, natural light, minimal PP etc, but I actually like your time exposure work more than a lot of your rally work. I love your series on Adelaide by night as well. I know the Adelaide by night series only reinforces to interstaters that Adelaide is a pretty dead city, the fact that you can take so many views with so little traffic about, but it also showcases the city in a very beautiful way. 2 & 3 above are my favourites. Keep it up!!!
