JPEG InterloperHi Guys thought some whiz out there may be able to give some advice. Recently, last few shoots, I have noticed that my D300 (I have this set only to RAW format) produces one, the first image as a jpeg then all others are NEFs. Strange there is no piggy backing that is the first image doesn't have a jpeg counterpart just the first image recorded is jpeg then all others are recorded as NEFs. Anyone else noticed anything similar or have any ideas?
Update: Thought i'd check all settings once more AND try other cards besides the SanDisk Extreme 111 card i'd been using in the D300. Well shot a few shots and no cards showed this problem after 3 shots on each. Confounding! Help, please. I suppose not a big deal but i'd hate to have the monet shot and find it only to be in jpeg(it's a 5.08mb size). cheers marco
Re: JPEG InterloperMarco
Are you saying that when you used different cards then none of them duplicated the problem? Regards

Re: JPEG InterloperThat's right Matt. Seems it may be an intermittent problem Just really noticed it the last few shoots.
cheers marco
Re: JPEG InterloperI'm not sure I'm following what is happening. Is this correct:
* You have the camera set to raw only * The first shot (on each card?) is stored as a JPEG * All remaining shots are NEF Is this correct? Is the JPEG a true JPEG? What happens if you don't format the car? I shoot raw+JPEG and I always get one of each.
Re: JPEG InterloperDoes the problem only occur with the 1 card? If so then it's a card problem.

Re: JPEG InterloperATJ - You are correct.
MAtt - I can't be sure. That is why i tried a couple of different cards, even the SanDisk Extreme i have been using with the D300. I even format the cards in camera at least 2 times. Looks like i'll keep trying to see if i can reproduce the problem. cheers marco
