Thanks Sue. Yeah, when I first started taking it up (underwater togging) I thought it'd be an easy transition from land based, but boy was I wrong....

Thanks dviv. Ouch - yeah, I've heard about what they can do with their strong claws - I was maybe about 15-20 cm away from it when I took the shot.

Thanks Glen. Using a sea&Sea DX-1G compact (basically a rebadged Ricoh GX-100) and housing with an Inon Z-240 strobe.

They are incredible creatures - they have one of the most complex eye's in nature and their claw strikes are the fastest recorded movement in an animal. Have a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mantis_shrimp

Thanks Jason. Yeah, the colours of the different underwater creatures make for excellent photographic subjects.
