Cold? Not when you're old!It amazes me the number of the 'older' generation who swim almost all year round.
I asked this guy if I could take his photo this morning at the rock pool. He kindly obliged. Geoff

Re: Cold? Not when you're old!Geoff - this one very fine portrait.
The pose, lighting and treatment have all worked to produce this beautiful result.
Re: Cold? Not when you're old!Nice image Geoff....but I suspect the colour version could be even better?
Regards
Matt. K
Re: Cold? Not when you're old!Are you kidding me Geoff - that guys only 25 Nut clenching always makes you look a lot older.
A fine capture indeed but I will echo Matt’s comment on colour. Chris

Re: Cold? Not when you're old! Thanks guys, here's the colour version.
I'm going through a passion for B&W portraits at the moment I think; Geoff

Re: Cold? Not when you're old!Geoff I really like this image and prefer the B & W. For some reason in the colour one I read the Speedo writing on his swimmers and it distracts me, but I don't notice it on the B & W version. Hope that makes sense

Re: Cold? Not when you're old!I also think this is a great portrait. I prefer the B+W as well. I find the colour a little too blue and the B+W has a nice feel of times gone by when people appreciated things more, and didn't let something like the cold get in the way!
Re: Cold? Not when you're old!I like the B&W version. I think the light enhances the skin tones in the B&W version

Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug
