You got the money right???!?!?!?!?!??
Been a bit hectic today.. Yeah the lens came in yestrday at about 2:30pm.. fantastic service again, but I haven't been at my system and haven't had time to play with the lens much yet.. scared myself stupid with it.. by default it was set to manual exposure.. should've read the manual first.. spent 10 minutes wondering why the autofocus options were greyed out.. *grins* Thanks again Birddog... I was going to sit down tonight and write out a post with pictures.. but yeah.. ta PlatinumWeaver / Dean

Thanks for the dough! Hope you'll enjoy with it! It's brand new and never I opened it before so please pay few more minutes at the manual, no more duck, promised please! I had all weeks with all type of dishes with duck as peking duck, steamed duck, salty duck, deep fried duck, duck congee, duck casserole, duck stir fried, Birddog114

Two quick shots.. the magpie was manually focused because it was before I realised what that switch was!
The cat is just... the cat 1/60 I think for him.. I love VR.. 1/60 at 400mm with my hands would just not work otherwise http://www.platinumweaver.net/files/DSC_2748_small.jpg http://www.platinumweaver.net/files/DSC_2743_small.jpg The magpie is unsharpened out of the camera, I feel the shot is a lot sharper than it would've been with my Tamron.. I guess there's a quality difference beyond the inclusion of VR that seperates the $250 from the $1700 Magpie full shot ( 4.x MB ) http://www.platinumweaver.net/files/DSC_2743.jpg EXIF should exist in all shots Better shots later PlatinumWeaver / Dean

I accessed pics just before Glen posted and they were fine for me. The magpie is way impressive (just looked at the large version) especially given manual focus. Eyes are in focus and you can see every detail in the feathers. Good example of what can be done with the 80-400 Peter

Actually I typoed the address of the magpie.. then quickly changed it and hoped no-one saw..
Thanks for the praise - As I said before, neither of them were carefully considered shots.. just me making sure I took photos of -something- on the day I got it PlatinumWeaver / Dean

seriously considering ebaying my tamron.. could get maybe $100 US on ebay judging by the current bids.. which would almost pay for a *coughCANONcough* 500D... which would make the lens a better macro-substitute than the Tamron...
or I could just put the money into something else, like the financial struggles one enters into once they join the VR club.... PlatinumWeaver / Dean
