Ebay RantI think its been mentioned here before...
but whats with Ebay requiring you to use paypal as a payment method, and then Paypal only letting you have $700 per month untill your bank account is verified! I have been lucky enough to sell my D200 and grip to a happy customer for $1200.00. Although I sent them my bank account details they paid via Paypal. Now because this is my first time with recieving money via paypal I am forced to have to wait to get ALL of MY money. I can only transfer $700 per month until my account is verified, a process which take 3-5 days. Thats another 3-5 days befoe I can order my 24-70 2.8 I guess it wont be a problem next time, but right now I just want my money! Thanks, I feel a little better now Cheers Jonesy D4, D700, plus glass from 14mm to 200mm

Re: Ebay RantHow much did you pay ebay as comission?? > $100 ?
Re: Ebay RantKeep in mind Jonesy that you never ever receive your money from PayPal without first requesting the transfer. This will always take from 3 to 5 days no matter how many transactions you have in the future as a seller.
According to PayPal’s fee summary there are no charges if you use a bank account (does not apply to credit or debit cards) and request $150 or more. Below $149.99 there is a $1 transfer fee. This only applies to a personal account and not a business account. The Ebay fees for this transaction (and not including insertion fees) would be 5.25% of the initial $75 and 2.75% for $75.01 to $1,000. Any monies over $1,000 attracts 1.5% of the closing price. So, to answer surenj’s question, my calculations would amount to $3.9375 + $25.437225 + $3 or $32.37 (but I have not been out of bed for long so there may be a miscalculation Chris

Re: Ebay Rantits a pain at first, but $32 to sell that amount is good IMO, and thats only if it sells, otherwise its what , $3 or so.
i remember the old days of the trading post, where an add cost around $30-40, you had people ringing up all the time and never showing up. ebay is fast, easy, generally safe, and realsitically i reckon, fairly reasonable with respect to charges.. Re: Ebay Rant$32 not too bad... I had a wrong figure in my head.. my Sony. I for one don't like PAYPAL (more like PAYENEMY if you ask me) especially when I receive payment. It's fine to buy using paypal
