Re: SB900 - Tips Advice?
Dan, It'd probably give you indigestion anyway. Given that you have a couple of days to play, that's exactly what I'd be doing. g.

Re: SB900 - Tips Advice?Dan,
I've had a play with one, but don't own one, but unless you can spend the next few days messing around with it and learning it well, then I'd stick with the SB-800 for the wedding, assuming you still have it, in situations where you need the shot, and have little time, sticking a piece of unfamiliar hardware in the mix isn't necessarily a great idea. I personally wouldn't risk it.
Re: SB900 - Tips Advice?Yeah thanks mate
Might do that Dan
Re: SB900 - Tips Advice?make sure you put batteries in it. It helps... apparently.

Nice one, a man with a sense of humour. D700, 50 1.8, 14-24 2.8, 24-70 2.8, 70-200VR, 80-400VR, SB800 plus a lot of gadgets
Re: SB900 - Tips Advice?I too shot a wedding last weekend using a SB900 on a D3. First time out with both apart from 2 studio shoots the day before with the D3. I usually use 4 x SB800's off camera with a D300 & D200 for much of our outdoor work. Works great most of the time. What I have found when i introduced the SB900 into the mix was since it only has 4 batteries and no provision for the 5th battery after a rapid fire of flashes (say 8~12) the SB900 shuts down in overtemp mode while the SB800's keep going.
Frustrating but the extra power (light) has it's advantages. On Camera with the D3 at night with a IS0 of 1600 it worked a treat. Mark
