Hey guys... Ok... just cause I've been there now, i thought I'd post these pics and see who knows their significance in photographic history (well that of the location that is). Oh... and nice to be back.... with a bit of luck, and work willing, I might be a little more active here than over the last year or so. Michael.
Photography is not a crime, but perhaps my abuse of artistic license is?

Can I hazard a guess it is where the first photo was taken. That window does look very familiar/similiar. I'll have to google the location, but that is my gut feeling.

I'm pretty sure they are his own images of a location looking at the gallery...

If the first photo is taken to be Daguerre's, I believe it was out of an attic window, or similar, across a roofline. I have no idea so I will take a stab - it's the window at Lacock Abbey Henry Talbot photographed in 1835 on a Nikon D3?
Regards, Patrick
Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935.

Excellent stab... it is indeed the window at Lacock Abbey... where the oldest existing negative was taken. Not the first apparently, but the oldest in existence and taken by Henry Talbot in 1835. Not well signposted in the Abbey, you'd easily miss it if you didn't know it was there. But I learn something everyday... I realise the hardware market is moving at lightning pace, but did he really use a Nikon D3... LOL. And yes... these rather poor happy snaps are all my own work... apologies for making the place untidy...

I was just about to say it is where the first picture shot on negative was taken, but I have been beaten to it.
