Newbie: more pictures

Hello again. Time to put up a few more for criticism!
1 Waggon wheel: taken in Flinders ranges

2 llama; taken with D70 and 70-300 'G' zoom

3 Sacred Canyon in the Flinders Ranges - a 'magic' place

4 Lake Wanaka tree - inspired by Mr Darcy's 'mini-meet in Wanaka' and Chicago 'windy tree'.

I appreciated your comments on my first 'upload'; constructive criticism welcome!

HI Intereasting shot was it possible to change angles to acieve mre light -thus detail on the trunk--jim or consider photo shop processing.

Oh I missed these. I like the last 3, but agree they need a bit more "punch". Did you do any post processing on them? A run through levels in Photoshop might help. Sorry that we didn't comment on them earlier. Please don't let this deter you from posting more.

I agree with Marvin. I also like the last three, but they look as if you had taken them in JPG format and published them as they are. You might need to adjust the sharpness a bit and colours in your favorite graphic program. However, I will add that I like your framing and composition on these last three.

I feel the problem with the first one is the gaping doorway. Maybe it would have worked better if taken from a different angle for it absorbs the viewer attention detracting from the composition. I f you like the door to contrast with the old car maybe you could try to reframe it using you crop tool to see if it works better. Why not making the wheel the main subject and crop all the rest and distracting bits?

Here is a super quick example of levels, sharpening and shadows adjustment in PS. It looked a little bit darker on my lappy monitor as I've blown out the clouds a bit, but you get the idea.
