Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

I was really impressed with the number and quality of images that I reviewed for PotW this week. There were abstracts, portraits and a large number of excellent nature shots both plant and animal. But the image I have chosen after much deliberation is from the motor-sport genre, and it is this oustanding effort from MattyO:  I'm not a real car racing enthusiast, but I love the testing Mt Panorama circuit. Matty's picture has everything - a car under stress, both near-side wheels off the ground, excellent panning skills, brilliant colour and critically sharp where it matters. A shot most photogs would love to claim. Congratulations to Matt, and his original thread is here - check it out, because there are a couple of other sensational images there too.
