Boat in the Harbour HDR PANORAMAHI
Just your thoughts. Cheers
Re: Boat in the Harbour HDR PANORAMAGood colours. Would have better to have the boat face the other way though.
Re: Boat in the Harbour HDR PANORAMAround here people dock there boats nose in, so was not going to ring up the owner to come down at 8pm just to turn his boat around.
surenj are you the only one that comments on my photos with never anything upbuilding? have you got anything against me? is it because YOU stole my avatar.
Re: Boat in the Harbour HDR PANORAMA
As it happens, this was something along the lines of my thoughts. I think you should just photochop this; I'm sure others would. Seriously, this is a very nice image. I suspect that you've composed this to include the whole of the boat's vertical reflection in the water, but I'm wondering how it might look with less water in the foreground, and more sky at the top? Just a slightly higher angle of approach.
I do hope that you're not being serious about these observations. I'm not seeing any smilies here, and I cannot discern whether you are being serious or frivoulous here. Your avatar comment suggests the latter, but the former comments do not, and I'd greatly appreciate some clarification, please. g.

Re: Boat in the Harbour HDR PANORAMAI have to agree, you have been foiled by the direction of the boat, but that is beyond your control, otherwise the colours and the sky really make this shot a cracker (I sky in general)

Re: Boat in the Harbour HDR PANORAMAis it just my tired eyes, or is the water running downhill a bit ?
the boat is OK that way, but you could do with a couple of old fellas fishing from folding stools off the jetty... /jks nice avatar btw D300, 80-200 F2.8, 50mm F1.4, 18-70 kit, Sigma 14mm F3.5

standby while i pull out my discreet stick of explosive and remove those if anyone can clone out those 4 big bad boys i WILL be impressed gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Boat in the Harbour HDR PANORAMAboy some of you people cant take a photo for what it is can ya? you people cant just accept that this wass the way it was taken and cirtique it for what it is? i wont be posting here again, i guess people are just way too critical of things that cant change, at what stage do you delete the whole photo and start again simply because you have photoshopped and removed everything in the photo anyway, this should be a graphic art design drawing forum not a photography one.
Re: Boat in the Harbour HDR PANORAMA
I totally agree with what you have said. Very often people don’t critique the photo as is but try and tell you what they want to see. They also assume that, you as the photographer, should carry a chainsaw to remove pilings, the phone number of the boat owner so that you can ask him to turn his boat around. That’s not photo critique it’s photographer critique or as it is sometimes known as, flaming. If you don’t like a photo then do as I do and don’t make a comment unless it is truly constructive and not destructive. I have had a thought, the photograph of the Hindenburg on fire just does not look right, can we go back and take it again? Personally, knowing the location of this shot, my comment would be that the sky transition is stunning and say that the HDR has certainly enhanced this photo. Finally, a word on avatar stealing - when using a copyright image (in this case Homer) any such usage is illegal without the express permission of the copyright holder, period. Yours truly, Graphic Designer and Photographer Chris
