Mark - I like 4149, 4170, 4179, 4159.

In 4172 you have, IMO, made a mistake I often make myself - the feet are missing

4140 is my favourite but my eyes kept leaping to the lamp, might look a lot better with this cloned out

Thanks for sharing
Chris

G'day Mark,

I think you are right when you said you are in need of a decent flash. The SB800 will do you great service especially in the type of pics you've taken. You will fall in love with it :) I know i have.

I wanted to say something about how i feel your pics seem a bit rushed but i'm not sure how to word it. The car pics seem to have a lot of thought in them, in a way so do the model shots, but there seems to be a bit missing from them, (not flash). I'm not sure what it is. It looks like you've just pointed the camera at them and pressed the shutter.

In a nutshell i think you are in the right direction but have slightly missed something. I know it's difficult shooting models and setups as they are much less candid and can look a bit 'contrived'

I do like your style of photography and have really enjoyed seeing your pics in the past, thanks for showing them, but i think some of these are not up to your usual high standard. Sorry mate, it is my own opinion of course, but an honest one at that.

With some creative PP these pics could look fantastic. There's plenty of potential in them.

I may be being overly critical of them, but that is the response i had when viewing them, even the second time around.

Thanks for sharing and showing us the pics mate.
Steve.

Steve... as you know i'm a big fan of getting and giving critique at it's best... i don't like to hold back... and i will always tell it as it is.... in that light... i really appreciate your feedback.... thankyou mate...

i know exactly what you are talking about... and my wife was exactly the same... in her words "there's the 'mark' missing in the shots"....

i have been trying to figure out what it is that is missing... and at the same time trying to figure out what the 'mark' part is all about.... not quite sure yet... but i think it's the lack of edge.... most of the shots show no eye contact... and the shots lack a certain 'twist' from standard theoretical photography.... which i think may be the key... however... i'm still yet to figure out what the "mark missing" part is...

the beauty is that i get to do it again and again and again :)

cheers

These models all worked TFP... the shoot was organised through brisbane photography....

paid models average around $60/hr ..... or around $150/hr for artistic nudes etc etc...

thanks JD...

the theme was set by both the models and the photograhers... basically a poll to figure out what we wanted to do....
