Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

WE11 Entry - Mr DarcyMy Entries for the competition here:http://www.dslrusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=34917
Place your vote for or against in that thread after entries close. Place specific suggestions/criticism here. We hosted a 90th Birthday party this weekend, so not much time was allocated to photography. I spent most of my time slaving in the kitchen. Still we got a few... Theme 1: ... shadow This caught my eye while we were relaxing after the party. The blurred shadow is because there were two lights shining from almost the same direction. WB was problematic, but I've come as close as I can. Available light. A couple of new-fangled flourescents. I must get high colour rendering ones next time. Theme 2: ... metal We had a lovely birthday party. This was a failed attempt at a birthday cake. Pam is just too fussy. It was delicious anyway. You can see the effect of the double shadow clearly here under the METAL knife. Theme 3: ... anchor Hey we live in the mountains. Not too many boats, let alone boat anchors lying round here. Still this does a good job of anchoring the tarp in high winds. Theme 4: ... spider web We normally live & let live where spiders are concerned, but we cleaned up most of the ones around the house for the party. Here's one we missed: Thanks for the comp Big Red Greg
It's easy to be good... when there is nothing else to do
