It looks very promising. Already, he has a fair bit of spots around Australia and also around the world. Have a look here: http://freephotoguides.blogspot.com/ It is based on the open source model so it is free but as in open source, the more people contribute to build the locations, the better it gets, so don't be afraid to get your favourite spot on there. cheers, André Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution. Re: Finding that special locationThanks for the link.
Looks like it'll be useful for travellers / holiday makers venturing into unfamiliar territory.
Re: Finding that special locationJust as long as the locations are meaningful.
Seriously, it looks like a great idea. My only fear is that we end up with a whole bunch of images from the same locations - which may be a good or a bad thing.
Re: Finding that special location
Actually, that shouldn't happen as the original posts of the knols are moderated by the state/region administrator so once there is an item for a certain location, the moderator shouldn't be allowing duplicates. Like a blog, the readers can comment and rate the various articles. cheers, André Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution. Re: Finding that special locationSorry, André, I don't mean duplicates in the knols, I mean in general. The more people that uses these knols, the more photographs that will appear (on the web, in people's galleries, etc.) from these spots.
