Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

For my last Picture Of The Week for 2008, I'd just like to say ahead of everything else that while I don't often have the time to post anymore, I still look a lot and what I see is that people are getting better. Ya'll have skills! Pat yourselves on the back, have a glass of wine, and then go out and continue shooting because some of you are getting really good. And for those who are worrying a lot or think they're so good that they don't need any help, chill a little. It's ok to be self-critical but seek some outside guidance and criticism on here and we'll tell you what's what. Now that we've gone and gotten that out of the way, this week was easy. From all the image threads, I only really had to look at one to decide "shit... this wins". And then when I looked at it, I decided that I couldn't choose which image I liked. Winning this week - the week before Christmas - is Matt K for these fantastic & mesmerising images of a wargame being played out. Brilliant stuff, Matt. Brilliant stuff. Original thread here.

I didn't even need to open this to know what the PotW would be. Congratulations, Matt. Well deserved.

Congrats again Matt. As for POTW, this week it was a "Lay down misere". Well deserved. An easy choice this time Leigh. :-)

Exactly. Great choice Leigh, and Matt ... well, I've already that these are amongst the best images I've ever seen from you; there's nothing else that I can say.
