Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

What sort of PP - and how much of it - have you applied to these images? In the first two, you seem to have introduced (I suspect it was not there otiginally) some sort of an "aura" around the bird, and it doesn't look either right, or good. In the first image, look at the head and along the back. In the second, again, look around the bird's head. g.

agree with gary. it was the first thing i noticed. some sort of smudgy/ guassian blur thing going on.

I took the top rail of the Hills Hoist off from behind the bird in PP - didn't think it stood out so much?

Like dogs' balls in the first two, I think.  If you look around the head, and follow from the head down the back of the bird in the first image ... look just above the head, and you will see what looks like an aura, or perhaps what might be the flow of some fluids around the bird. And I think I can see some of your PP artifacts in this image .. to the left of the bird's head, about level with the little feather tuft that's on its neck. Immediately to the left of the head there's a horizontal line evident; there's another one just above the dark patch above this one, and yet another immediately to the left of the first. I suspect that the "aura" that I'm seeing is a part of these artifacts ... g.
