First Image of 2009I thought it might be fun for people to post the very first image they took in 2009. It won't necessarily be the best image, but it has to be the very first image taken after 0:00 on 01/01/2009.
Here's mine. I took some better shots after this one and this one could have been better composed, but it's the first one so I'm stuck with it. So... post your first images here...
Re: First Image of 2009Not the best shot I took of the fireworks - but the EXIF is 00:00
7D, 60D, 70-200mm f/4LIS, 17-50mm f/2.8, 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5, 50mm f/1.4, 100mm f/2.8 Macro, 580EX II
Re: First Image of 2009I am working off the fact that I must have forgotten to adjust the time on my camera, so my first shot after 11.00pm (according to EXIF) is:
Unfortunately this is not a great picture! Last edited by aim54x on Thu Jan 01, 2009 3:42 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: First Image of 2009
Agreed, I am finding macrophotography very frustrating to learn. Moreso when I see Andrews amazing shots. Edit: and here is the first shot of 2009. Thankfully they got better once I turned AF back on. Too many Coronas D80, 50mm F/1.8, 18-70mm DX, Sigma 10-20mm

lol exactly the same problem, nonetheless this was the first image off the rank! gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: First Image of 2009Awesome shot Gerry!!!

Re: First Image of 2009
ya reckon? I was kinda disppointed with this one, the first fireworks are the ones to get I reckon, towards the end all that smoke makes it murky and fugly.... hey theres an idea, a 4 million dollars a pop these things should be carbon neutral - i expect smoke-less fireworks next year.... gerry's photography journey

Re: First Image of 2009yeah, clear skies, and three sets of recognizable fireworks!! Just a tad over exposed on them but otherwise very nice.

Re: First Image of 2009biggerry. Great capture. I am still to take a picture yet as my first for 2009. Fell asleep (passed out) call it what you will at about 11.45pm after helping the brother in-law devour a cocktail or two as he saw an opportunity to practice his new training.
Probably could not focus much yesterday (even with Auto Focus) as most of the day the light was to bright and things seemed blurry. Nice work though. Jase 4869 Guess What! ........I Have A Fever........And The Only Perscription........Is More Cowbell.
