Fireworks shootI couldn't make it to the actual fireworks. So I shot this in a friends house. I arrived there at 23:55 so didn't have much setup time. The subjects were very reluctant to be photographed. So much fun.

Re: Fireworks shootThanks for all your comments
430EX gelled red and snooted with an aluminium foil. Unfortunately didn't have anything dark to prevent the flash from bouncing off the white wall behind....
Re: Fireworks shootGreat concept. I was going to do something similar but with the windows screen saver version on my monitor. Glad I did not try it because I would have been put to shame. Great result.

Re: Fireworks shootNice. Very nice.
Why did you add the border? Was it to break up the dead space at the top of the image? 5DmII + some L lenses

Re: Fireworks shoot
I just added a border for better presentation for the forum. Here it is with a plain black border. I didn't like a white border on it. Thanks for your comments everyone.
Re: Fireworks shootSeriously cool! The rich burned orange colour works well. Is that some flash gear poking out from the left side of the girl's neck?
Re: Fireworks shootA very impressive shot and I just love the amount of space used above the TV

Re: Fireworks shoot
Good observation... That would be the receiver for the ebay trigger. Maybe I should keep it to remind me of the spontaneous nature of the shot.
Re: Fireworks shootWell conceptualised and executed.
cheers marco
Re: Fireworks shootVery observant! I hadn't noticed.
Re: Fireworks shoot
Cheers for the technical deatails! The good feedback you are getting here is well deserved. I can definately see this strong concept could being used for advertising TVs. Someone could do a whole series Steve (Nikon D200/D700)

Re: Fireworks shootI really like the simplicity of this image and its great use of negative space. I also prefer the black border.
