Boxerboy,
Lovely shot of the brom. I love the unfurled petals down lower. The "Rosella" flower is a newie to me. Being from cool clime I may noy see it either - so thanks for sharing. The old lens still has it! Nothing wrong with these photographs. Shoot early - Shoot often
Birddog, it sure is worth the $750 USD according to ebay, but because it's you I'd be prepared to part with it for $750 Australian - interested?? Thanks for your comments - and yours too Mattyb. The rosella is a native and you can make jam with 'em. They self-seed and we get them popping up every year. Cheers Peter my karma just ran over your dogma
I have one brand new as seen by members on last Saturday meet, with manual, hood, box, I bought it 12 years ago at around US$250.00, only used 3 times, the third time was used on last Saturday with Leigh's D70. And it's is in my Nikon collectible glasses. Birddog114

You'd have to say that's a good investment (and I suppose you don't want another one??) my karma just ran over your dogma
I love the brom - rich in colour and beautifully captured. On the other, I like it also, but feel that a little crop from one side or the other would offset it a little better IMO

Chris, Thanks for your input, I agree. This is a cropped version of the rosella: Cheers Peter my karma just ran over your dogma
Peter
Thanks for posting. The bromeliad is my fave, but the rosella one brings back childhood memories when we'd holiday on the Sunshine Coast & go to the Buderim Ginger factory where they made Rosella jam. I remember being horrifed at the thought of making jam from birds My recall is bad too. I thought they were red and purple. Peter

Thanks Peter. Your recall may not be too bad, because the stems are a red/purple colour and the flower petals can have a slight purple hue. Cheers Peter my karma just ran over your dogma
