Ducks, Geese and even a PelicanI decided to have another shot at those water hen chicks this afternoon, I didn’t do too well with them, but I did manage to get some great shots of ducks, geese and even a pelican. The photos were taken with my D300 using my Tamron 70-300mm lens.
C&C is much appreciated. I snapped this Ibis in flight, sorry the wings are blown out! This Pelican flew in and started fishing the pond, here it is trying to keep a low profile but all the other birds were keeping well clear One of the resident Geese! I finally got one of those Ducks flapping!! Cameron

Re: Ducks, Geese and even a PelicanThat looks like the renzo piano building in the background of the 1st - were you shooting in the botanical gardens?
#1 - maybe straighten the background? the ibis may look better with some chin up... #3 feels like the goose is about to hit it's head on the top of the photo! Do you have any more photo left up there? #4 very nice. you have got the motion perfectly. 5DmII + some L lenses

When I right CLick and "ViewImage", I get:

It's easy to be good... when there is nothing else to do
Re: Ducks, Geese and even a PelicanThat is really strange, Mitchell could see the images and the site is up when I checked yesterday and today now.

Re: Ducks, Geese and even a PelicanThe images show for me. I suspect the host name isn't in all the DNS.
1) I like the composition and the background but would like to see the ibis' head sharper and with more detail. I realise that will be difficult without blowing the wings further, but I feel that's what lets the image down. 2) I'd like to see the pelican a little closer, and maybe lower in the frame. 3) I'd like to see a bit more room around the goose. 4) I'd like to see the duck more from the front. The head looks a little soft, too, but that may just be my old eyes.
Re: Ducks, Geese and even a PelicanThanks for the comments Andrew, glad that you can see the images. I'll make sure I look at fixing these issues before I print them (if I get around to printing)
