Printable DVD's

Hi All,

Anyone have any idea which are the best DVD's to print on with an Epson Printer? Also is there any specific software (designed for a MAC) which is better to use?

I am currently using Sony DVD's and a little app called DiscLabel but the quality of the print is not great at all and I don't know if it is the DVD or the software?

I was using the software provided by Epson to do this on my PC (Epson PrintCD from memory). Not sure if they have a version of this for Mac. The quality was reasonable. I would quite often use a photo or scanned image (especially on my photo backups).

I have mostly used Verbatim disks as media and these seem to have been fine. To state the obvious, make sure the ink has had plenty of time to dry before putting the disk in any drives. I found after a while that my cd/dvd caddy for the printer started to wear out (roller friction against the bottom of it) and become rather unreliable.

I always thought the white label on those dvds where the same across the board as I've had consistent results using Ritek DVD+R and also Imation CD-R which are obviously different brands? Maybe it could be the printer or the setting your using? Regarding a Disc Label printing software can't really assist there since Im on the Windows platform, but you can try searching in Macupdate.com or Versiontracker.com.

Andrew, I use TDK DVD-R printables, and the results are absolutely fantastic. I
also have very few bad burns.

(Canon i965 using the supplied software for disk printing which is very flexible
and easy to use)

Ditto but with Canon i865

I use Taiyo Yuden media - they do a great glossy version called (I think) "Weathershield" (maybe WaterShield) which isn't affected if wet after printing. I use a program called Discus - clunky interface but very good results on my Epson R310.

Tried Verbatim glossy but quite a high number of bad burns - never had a bad burn with the Taiyo Yudens.
