to the adelaidians...

Postby brentsky on Thu Jan 22, 2009 12:01 pm

Hi all, i hope i have posted this in the correct section:

I am organizing an italian jazz group to come to Australia and conduct various concerts around the capital cities.

I have stumbled across a problem however and I am looking to search for a decent, reputable jazz club in adelaide.

I would be most appreciative if someone could provide the names of some locales.

Cheers, Brentsky

There's a pub in North Adelaide named Royal Oak, they have a jazz night each week. Not sure if it's what you are looking for but might be worth giving them a call and they could hook you up with the groups they deal with

Cheers

How big is the groups following in Adelaide?

I have done promotion and organisation for bands with large followings in Australia (Royal Crown Revue for anyone interested) and the biggest problem is ticket sales, some bands wont come because its not financially viable with low ticket sales, and others wont come if they cant get a sellout at the venue. The Gov is a brilliant live venue for any band, Fowlers Live is relaitvely popular, although the accoustics are not the best and they can be pushy to make people leave, band included once the show is over.

It really depends on how big you plan on the show being, and what sort of environment you want...
Life is all about ass, you're either covering it, laughing it off, kicking it, kissing it, busting it, trying to get a piece of it, or behaving like one
