Hi all,

Is it really worth the cost to replace my as new SB80 with an SB800 ?

I mainly use the flash for daylight fill, should i learn how to properly use the SB80 in manual mode with my D70 or sell it and trade up to the SB800.

SB-80Dx is a give away toy now, the SB800 is much needed for the D70.
How much do you think you can sell the SB-80Dx? $100.00 or $150.00?
Better get a SB800 for all your needs and you'll it dearly, much more thing the SB800 can do or intergration with your D70.

The major difference.....
SB-80Dx does not support the i-TTL - it is meant to be far superior to D-TTL. The first "real" through the lens metering for DSLR flash.

If you are using a d70 you will get better fill flash and better "smarts"
if you are using a D100 or other SLR that does no support I-TTL you won't see much diference.

I don't know much about Sb800 so other can answer better.

Even the D100 is not support the I-TTL, but in D-TTL the SB-800 does more good job for the D100 than the SB-80DX
