Rockscapes at Clifton or Coalcliff?? Doesnt matta!!

Hey guys

Its been a while since I've posted since I don't think images I've taken recently are really post worthy. However I think these ones are. Taken in the wee hours of the morning on Australia Day. Heavy overcast day gave me RAW files that were flat and rather grey. So instead of just simply tweaking curves and colours I decided to really have fun in Lightroom 2 and go nuts in processing them. And these are the results. Enjoy

Since landscapes are not my forte I would appreciate any C&C especially in composition

Thanks for looking

I'm usually very uninterested in landscapes unless they knock my socks off because very few landscapes have the elements that move me emotionally...but when they do, I'm briefly in heaven. Your last image is bloody beautiful and worthy of being called 'fine art'. I love the way it holds the eye to the foreground, refusing to let the eye wander further. I love the wispy tonality and the exquisite balance. This image could easily hang next to an Ansel Adams or a Brett Weston and hold its own. Keep pushing this line of photography and take it to the max.
Regards

I'm with Matt on this one - the last image is just ethereal. Excellent work! :)

But the composition in all of them is spot on though and thats what counts! The PP is perfect and brings the composition to life and makes for very very nice pictures....

THe only comment I could make is the horizon in #3, maybe straighten a fraction?

No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.

Well the wait between your last images was well worth is, they are some really nice landscapes as Mattk said they would be perfect for gracing the walls of many a home or lobby, well done. The colours are nice, but the black and white are just divine.

The first two are "interesting" (in the nicest way  ) and the last two are stunners, especially no. 3. Really beautiful stuff - enough to get me back down there soon to try the same.

The tiny black barnacles in the last picture add something to it that turns it into a superb photograph. The others are good but the last is great!

Thank you very much for the positive comments guys. Good to know I'm heading in the right direction.

I've been meaning to print these especially the 'misty' one which a lot of people seem to really like. Might try it in metallic paper since I'm really curious to see how that turns out.
