Is everyone ok ???Hi to all my southern and northern counterparts
Just a shout out to see if everyone is ok ???? The bushfires down south are just a nightmare come to life, and the floods up north are something to behold ?? My thoughts are with you, wherever you may be, and please stay safe !!! Hugs Rel Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships! -Ansel Adams

Re: Is everyone ok ???I echo the above... Although from seeing it on the tele, if anyone in the forum was affected, they won't be online for a while....
Re: Is everyone ok ???An immensely sad couple of days.
If they find anyone responsible for this then in my mind they should not only be tried for murder but terrorism as well. Pax to those who have passed on and the survivors too. Chris

Re: Is everyone ok ???It's unbelievable what we're seeing in the media tonight. My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected, and also with the wonderful volunteers and service personnel who are involved.

Re: Is everyone ok ???My partner has family in the Whittlesea area. We had a somewhat tense weekend as they were incommunicado, but we have sinced learned they are fine.
With the amount of coverage of the fires I've been wondering if the people in Qld are feeling a bit forgotten. Canon EOS 50D, 24-70 f2.8L, 100-300 f5.6L, 580EX II
Re: Is everyone ok ???Was listening to the Radio this morning...They were collecting money door knocking the rich suburbs... Kiddies were giving money out of their piggy banks!! INSPIRATIONAL.

Let's just hope those door knocking were legit: http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009 ... 486548.htm
Re: Is everyone ok ???I drove passed some of the smaller damage on my way home from the train station yesterday and it is so hard to describe. I may take the camera out in the next couple of days. Even my 4yo son was shocked by what he saw.

Re: Is everyone ok ???The Big Picture has some images here. I don't think any photographs can come close to representing what it was like but they certainly convey some of the devastation and tragedy.

Hi Andrew, I think the NOVA969 fellows were real. You can usually count on them in a situation like this. But I hear what you are saying Andrew... The same goes to all the looters out there.
Re: Is everyone ok ???
my Parents were at the music festival there on the weekend ... scary stuff indeed as they were trapped in. got out ok on Sunday arvo to head back home to Eaglehawk where their suburb was on fire... no damage though so they were doubly lucky. Shane

Re: Is everyone ok ???Hi,
Katie and I live in the hills of Belgrave and Saturday was a very nervous day. We had five fires within 10 kms of us. While we worked in the studio one ear was always on the radio. While only small grass fires the news of the Churchill fires and Kinglake did not make the situation any easier. I feel for those who had loss of life and property anf those left to mop up. One of my work colleauges is currently on body recovery work with his CFA team in Kinglake. A side note story - Last week Katies mum was asked by a friend to house sit with her a house in Kinglake for a month. She declinded as it was a month rather than a week. Her friend passed up the oppurtunity since she did not want to house sit alone. The brother of the guy asking did house sit for him. He (the brother) and the house were lost on Saturday. Just shows you you never know what's around the corner. I hope the remainder of summer fire season brings nothing like it did last Saturday. Having lost a friend in 1983 fires in Sydney on a tanker in the Sutherland Shire I have empathy for those who are hurting. We remember those lost souls. Mark & Katie Mark & Katie.

Yes, exactly. I was kept in for detention at RDJ after The Shed this afternoon ... we needed to produce a couple of Community Service announcements, one expressing our condolences and offering suggestions for where our listeners can make donations, and the second a warning about the scammers doing this despicable thing. I just cannot believe how low some people will stoop. Those sorts of scum should be shot on sight. Or given front row seats to the synchronised swimming. g.

Re: Is everyone ok ???
That is so sad, but shows you the luck of draw. In a similar vein, one of our forum members was a passenger on the plane that executed a water landing in Darwin last week. All people on the plane were able to wade to safety, but it could have so easily been a different story. Needless to say, our thoughts are with everyone being affected by all of the weather events around the country. g.
