Tamron 24-135mm vs Nikkor 24-120mm VROkay. Here we go again.
Has anyone tried Tamron 24-135mm lens? It costs around 650 bucks. What do you guys think about the lens, including sharpness and contrast. Do ya think Nikkor VR is worth the money? I just need a lens to extend the zoom...just to replace my kit lens. Ahh! So many decisions...

The first poster wants to replace the kit lens to extend the zoom So what make you think to do this way? Yes, VR is worth to obtain! been discussed on this forum in the past many threads. Birddog114

I take street and landscape photography now. I just like to capture my subject up close without me being so close to it.
I dunno 120mm is enough though. 35mm equiv is 180mm. I won't be taking low light photography with a zoom lens.
I think that if you put them both on your D70 and compared the reach, the VR would be more than worth the 15mm of reach. I'm looking very hard at the 24-120 VR as it would be just so useful. I sort of wish it was more like 17-120 VR but hey, I also wish my 70-300 ED was VR, and sort of wish that my D70 was a D2X, and that my 92 Subaru was a 2005 Audi...you get my point.
Hey dooda, I have my wish list too! One of them is: - I wish I'm young again and come back to fly for the Airforce with the modern jet age. Birddog114
