ABMF 2009 - Daniel ChampagneThis guy is awesome.
Daniel is just 19, but his playing style - hammering with both hands - and his use of dynamicas was brilliant. He played Don MacLean's Vincent, and brought the house down. This gig was at the beautiful Lieder Theatre, which is just west of the main St in Goulburn, about a block north of Belmore Park. Maybe two blocks N of The Paragon. It holds about 150 PAX, and has a charm that I cannot even begin to describe. However, something strange happening to the lighing during Daniel's set. I normally shoot this stuff on "incandescant", but I noticed, when shooting Matt Taylor, that something was very wrong. Switching to daylight fixed the problem, but on review, I can see that one point the lighting conditions defintely altered fromimage A to image B. Nothing that I can't fix in post, but that's the explanation for the off colours in some of these, as well as the images of Matt. g.

Re: ABMF 2009 - Daniel ChampagneDaniel is from Bega, and has been gathering quite a reputation as a fine musician over the last couple of years. He got 2 or 3 spots at the Cobargo folk festival this coming weekend.
http://www.cobargofolkfestival.com/ If anyone fancies a trip to the area it's a great festival (been going to it for about the last 10 years), and great value (early bird tickets finish tonight though $65 for Fri/Sat/Sun). Lots of great talent..Mal Webb, Warren Fahey, The Fagans, Nancy Kerr. Oh....and nice photos BTW.
