Well - the weekend's over and I'm going over all the pics. Had my first 'real' experience with leaving the ISO at 1600! #!@$^$%@&^$@!!!

I would never have done something like this sheepie. Never ever. Especially at a safari in Disney World a month and a half ago. I just don't forget that type of thing. Another thing I never forget is setting Exp Comp back to zero after setting it to -2.7 when taking pics of sunsets within the last couple of hours. You need to really get with it man!
Seriously great shot no matter the ISO. Absolutly perfect timing.

Sheepie, don't sweat it - we've all made that mistake, whether we admit it or not.
Check your aperture and shutter speeds next time, to see if they roughly coincide with the "sunny 16" rule (helps if you know or have some concept of ths rule). If you're getting ridiculously high shutter speeds, you'll know your ISO is outta whack. 
Yeah, and it also helps if it's not in 'dumb mode' as this was shot in (I didn't have the camera you see, and it's just too difficult to explain to others what all the dials do!). Am really annoyed with myself though - I've been looking forward to this weekend for so long (we organised it at Christmas time) and now I am struggling with PP to salvage what I can. Oh well, gives us an excuse to go back there I guess! *** When getting there is half the fun! ***

If you haven't already done so...download a copy of noiseware from the internet. It will clean up your 16oo ISO pics like you won't believe. Just type noiseware into Google and it should be the first entry. Regards

Sheepie - 1600iso it may be but still a very good pic and to think the owner of the D70 is the one getting a soaking
