Self Drive Slide Shows

Postby barry on Mon Mar 30, 2009 1:31 am

Need some advice please.

What software do I need to create slide shows that self drive.

I have lots of photos I want to send to some friends as a slide presentation that runs automatically.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I used to use proshow gold and proshow producer. I really liked them, but I haven't done a slideshow in quite a while. They allow you to time your show to music, edit and do fancy things.

The other popular one is PicturesToExe.

Proshow has more capabilities and is somewhat easier to use when doing complex actions on your photos. PicturesToExe is probably easiest to get started with, and costs less.

Unless you render the finished production to movie/dvd/youtube/whatever, the results are windows PC only, as are the programs themselves. There is a mac program that is quite good - FotoMagico - and the results are mac only but it will also render to movie etc.

Here's a vote for ProShow Gold - it's a good program and easy to use!

Pro Show Gold is very good, very flexible, and several output choices including what you want.

Thanks for your suggestions. Managed to get hold of ProShow Gold. Haven't loaded on computer yet but will tryout this weekend.
