Which eye do you use to look through the viewfinder?

Postby latch on Fri Apr 24, 2009 1:10 pm

A recent poll here about whether you keep both eyes open when photographing has inspired me to ask this question.

For years I couldn't understand why battery grips had the secondary shutter button where they did - until I realised that most people must be right-eye-dominant. I am left-eye dominant, and instinctively hold the camera up to my left eye. I have been trying to train myself to tip the camera the "right" way when using vertical orentation.

Having recently purchased a second hand D200 (with battery grip) as an upgrade from my D70, I will now have the opportunity to try out that secondary shutter button.
