Where to buy a Lens cap in Melbourne

Postby Ant on Sun Apr 26, 2009 10:22 pm

Ok, this may seem like a silly question, but I finally, after years or trying, managed to lose a lens cap. It is off my AF-S 18-55 kit lens (not my favourite lens) and is 52mm. I looked at the prices online and almost fell over at $16 for a $2 piece of plastic. Would love to know if I am just looking in the wrong places.

..... you are paying for the name on the cap and an original replacement

..... there are unbranded cheep caps, any camera store should carry this size

Hi Ant

I just bought some Chinese Nikon lens caps on EBay from this vendor. They look and seem to operate just like the real thing and cost $5 each, postage free (from Hong Kong).

Regards,
Murray

Thanks guys. I will try a local shop first (although, knowing me it will be quicker to order one off ebay today). I think I can live without the NIKON across the front of the lens  . Maybe I will just put the Nikon strap back on the camera :biglaugh:
