Re: Netball - Swifts v ThunderbirdsI really like #1 and 4#. What lens and lights were you using?
Re: Netball - Swifts v Thunderbirdsthey are all primo shots there! given the typical lighting of indoor stadiums you have done very well, not only in a technical sense but also the composition of the shots are great, something I would expect to see in a sports mag.
Care to share some exif data on them? gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Netball - Swifts v ThunderbirdsIt seems like that you had perfect elevation where you sat. You seem to be just above the players' eyelines...
I would love to see what would happen with wireless flash in this sort of setting.
Re: Netball - Swifts v ThunderbirdsNice shots David with great colour. Were you using the 70-200 F4 IS by any means or the 17-55 Tamron?

Re: Netball - Swifts v ThunderbirdsGreat shots David! It must have been pretty tough conditions being indoors under lights like that.
I am also going to ask 'which lens??' from the 40D right? Cameron

Re: Netball - Swifts v ThunderbirdsThanks for the comments guys
I was using the 40D. 2nd was with the 50mm f/1.4 and the rest with the 70-200 F/4 IS I asked about taking in the camera and was told it was fina as long as I didn't use flash. The lighting in the State Sports Centre is surprisingly bright. (Much better than a rugby night game for example) The 2nd was taken landscape and cropped to portrait - EXIF ISO400, 1/200 and F/2.8 next three shot with the 70-200 at F/4 with either ISO400 and 1/100th (for ball movement) or ISO800 and 1/200th I was pretty impressed with the quality at higher ISO - I haven't done any NR on these. As far as location, you can't beat box seats Thanks again for the comments 7D, 60D, 70-200mm f/4LIS, 17-50mm f/2.8, 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5, 50mm f/1.4, 100mm f/2.8 Macro, 580EX II
Re: Netball - Swifts v Thunderbirds
Really? I've always been told that no cameras were allowed at all. Fine, I'll have to pack the 70-200/2.8 VR next time I go Err... which might be tomorrow.
Re: Netball - Swifts v Thunderbirds
I'm not sure about regular entry but VIP box tickets might have had something to do with the decision 7D, 60D, 70-200mm f/4LIS, 17-50mm f/2.8, 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5, 50mm f/1.4, 100mm f/2.8 Macro, 580EX II
