Re: Water StudyI reckon it has some potential, looks like a whirlpool sucking the droplet in!
Anyway, I had a quick bash at it (hope you don't mind- let me know if you dont want it up) to get some more light into it! Adjusted levels and resized gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Water Study
Agree, cant see anything D80, 50mm F/1.8, 18-70mm DX, Sigma 10-20mm
Re: Water StudyThe extra light does improve it considerably.

Lifes journey is not to arrive at our grave in a well preserved body but, rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, "Wow what a ride." D70s, D300, 70-300ED, 18-70 Kit Lens, Nikkor 105 Micro. Manfrotto 190Prob Ball head. SB800 x 2.
Re: Water Studyhmm... the point was to keep it dark and moody with the highlights helping to draw the eye in toward the narrow DOF - although perhaps my monitor needs to be calibrated as I've heard a few people say my shots (not just this one) appear dark
Anyone got any suggestions for calibration? Agreed the extra light does help to make more detail visible though. Canon EOS50D, 17-40mm f4 L USM, 24-105mm f4 L IS USM, 50mm f1.4 USM, 28-80mm f3.5-5.6, 70-300mm f4-5.6 & various other bits

Re: Water StudyFor what it's worth, the first photo is far better than the second. The second image shows far too many details and spoils the effect. It shows too much noise/artefacts (possibly caused by over sharpening and unnecessary detail that are better hidden. So if you decide to stick to the second one I suggest you use a filter to get rid of the noise.
